August 23rd, 2010

Sometime ago it was believed that hair loss was due to genetics.  While it is true that male pattern baldness is hereditary, there are other factors to consider when your hair is thinning.  As advances in technology were made, it was soon discovered that a hormone called DHT was the culprit for baldness.  DHT is caused by excessive testosterone which is present in both men and women.  Thankfully there are natural hair loss products that men and women can use safely to re-grow their hair naturally.

August 18th, 2010

When we see men with thinning hair, we automatically say that it’s normal.  But when we see women who are balding the first reason that comes to mind is chemo therapy or radiation therapy.  But hair loss in women without the chemo is quite common.

One of the most common reasons why women lose their hair is pregnancy.  Hormonal changes in a woman’s body during pregnancy can weaken follicles and cause hair fall.  Stress and depression can also cause thinning hair in women.

Does Provillus Really Work?

August 16th, 2010

Baldness in women is quite common nowadays.    Most of these products are quite expensive and most of them are focused on male baldness.  Some people would think that men and women would need the same treatment but since the cause of hair thinning differs in men and women, treatment should also be different.  Take Provillus for example.  It is a product that specializes in women, but does it really work?

Provillus contains Horsetail Silica and Para-amino benzoic acid which are effective in treating most balding problems.  We say “most” because there are some cases wherein this sort of medication was not effective.  This is due to our different genetic makeup.  Some form of medication is effective on others while for some people it will have no effect at all.
